I awoke to the sound of rain outside my room and remembered I had left Scotty’s windows open! Ran out and closed them and then couldn’t get back to sleep. I had stayed at the home of Michele Muska, a friend who I met through Jo Packham at Quilt Market last year. What a great hostess she was! I have been so blessed on this trip to have stayed at so many places that felt like home.
Michele made this delicious Overnight French Toast last night and then baked it this morning. It had crumb topping- you would not believe how good it was. Mmm mmm.
Then we went out to the camper and cranked out some work! Michele needed favor boxes for a work project, some labels for a shower she will be attending next weekend and boxes for a class she is teaching in November. She used my Sizzix Triangle Box and some Inkadinkado stamps she had. We chatted as we worked so it went quickly.
Poor Scotty. I had covered the table with contact paper before I left and apparently the Big Shot got bumped around a good bit in the cabinet where it was stored because the screws on the bottom of the machine were falling out and scraping the table when we cranked it. The good thing is I have more contact paper so will have to repair it when I have a chance.
Then it was time to say goodbye and head out into some rain and traffic on my way in Rhode Island where I will be teaching at Bella Art. I was driving through this little town and saw a really cool thing…
It was called Field of Flags and had flags covering the front of several yards. I didn’t get a very good pic but I didn’t want to have to turn Scotty around. God forbid!
I also took a break from driving and did a little shopping for some new tops to wear. Ate dinner at Applebee’s and read my Kindle while I enjoyed a Chicken Oriental salad.
Tomorrow starts six straight days of classes in five different stores!
Here’s my $50 room at the Comfort In in Providence- a huge improvement over the last one. I would say Priceline has redeemed itself- wouldn’t you?.
Have to get up early tomorrow and cut some #ArtistTradingBlocks for my friend Joanne Fink and get them in the mail. Can’t wait to see what she does with them!
Good night my friends!

You are a TROOPER, Eileen! Loved waking to find you did post a blog for us last night. Loved the Flags picture…so cool. And I have been enjoying Joanne Fink’s Zenspiration book lately…looking for new ways to add pizzazz to my own writing. Love her style.
All right. You have got your next days booked solid. Can’t wait to hear how it all goes. Keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to attend a class in Indiana.
Until then, stay strong 🙂

Lisa, I am so glad you were able to come today! I had a great time meeting you all and loved seeing how creative you guys were with your books. It’s hard- there is so much crafting to be done and not enough time, but maybe next year I will be back if scotty holds up :-0 Thanks for making me feel so welcome!

I’m loving your photos, Eileen and your travels/travails. I especially like that you get intimate with us to ‘fess up to the silly things you do like scrape up your poor contact paper. I’ll trade you one: I once brought a heavy sewing machine down onto my beautiful cherry dining room table (which had been passed down to me by my mother). I wanted to make simple pillow cases for my daughter and her two college roommates. The sewing was going well and fast … so fast I didn’t notice that the head of a straight pin had lodged itself under the sewing machine, and with every stitch it was laying a fine but deep scratch in the top of the cherry table. There must have been a HUNDRED there by the time I noticed!! I was heartsick! All those years, Mom and I had painstakingly protected the tabletop with custom-made pads that I simply forgot to put on THIS TIME.
I called to have a repairman to come look at it — and it was so damaged, it couldn’t be fixed without a major investment that I didn’t have. SICK, I’m telling you. I eventually gave the table to my daughter to have at college and she sold it when she graduated. I moved a nice round table into my new dining room at the house you visited. It seems somehow justice that a few years later, Emily and I were working at the table, assembling her wedding invitations with rubber cement. THIS TIME, we covered the table with newspaper. ALAS, the rubber cement seeped through where Emily was working and the solvent lifted the surface!!! AGAIN, the repairman said no can fix. I still have the table — war torn — but with great memories. How can I get rid of it?? I think it’s due for decoupaging!
Have a great few days in the next week, teaching. You’re a lucky gal to be pursuing this adventure. Meanwhile, back at our ranch, we’re still awaiting grandson’s birth…. coming soon!
Fondly,

oh Ellen! What a disaster! But you absolutely cannot get rid of it. You have to pass it down to the new little one- it’s a family heirloom! I was wondering if the baby had arrived yet. Make sure and let us know when it happens. Tell Emily I am thinking of her!
