This is my favorite blog hop ever because I love to make little houses. But it also is a little frustrating because two seriously great sizzix house dies are no longer available and aren’t available on ebay or amazon or anywhere else I look – the sizzix Bigz Birdhouse die (your design, I believe) and your 3-D house die. These are great dies and should clearly be re-issued. I hope they are on the list for that. These 2 dies are more versatile than the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling die (which I love and bought the minute I could) and would complement his dies nicely.
If you can encourage Sizzix to re-issue them, I would be very happy.
Thank you for this blog hop. Great ideas.

Hi Lucy! Thanks for your comments regarding the dies. I have passed this along to the art director at Sizzix. Not sure if I can promise anything but it never hurts to try right? I love both of those dies and appreciate that you do too 🙂 will let you know if I hear anything. Thanks for taking the time to comment and go through our hop today! Eileen

Oh, I am so glad you replied. I was afraid I had committed a major online faux pas by asking about those dies. I started making little houses about a year ago. Most of them I cut out by hand which is time-consuming (and at my age a little painful). I immediately looked for cutting dies that I could use and there were few options that I liked. I did special order Brenda Walton’s Bigz house die, but it is a little small for what I like to make. I saw that you had some promising dies so I googled and ebayed repeatedly, but there were none to be found. I figure whoever has them is not giving them up. Tim’s house dies are amazing, but I’d like the flexibility of simpler, larger structure.
Thank you for your kind reply.

Lucy, I love hearing feedback from people- especially when it’s good 🙂 I am always sad when a die is discontinued but understand that inventory would be a nightmare when Sizzix creates so many dies! However if there’s a chance to bring one back, I am happy. This new collection that will be coming out in May contains several dies that were discontinued and are returning so there’s hope! Stay tuned. And please don’t ever be nervous to say what you want! I checked your blog and look forward to seeing your Easter houses 🙂

WoooHooo….Love these two sweet sets….and like I need another reason/example to sell me on that Mushroom set! This stand alone one is so cute!
And I also agree with Lucy above….The 3-d birdhouse would be great….if it was available! 🙁
I have a few ‘old’ house dies….some are small. You know we all love our Sizzix/Eileen Hull dies! 🙂
TFS! Just loving all the examples and inspiration!
