We have an exciting month ahead for all you Eileen Hull fans! The theme this month is June Journals and Eileen is collaborating with Belagio to use their unique, versatile cork fabric. This durable and user friendly fabric can be easily die cut, sewn by machine, combined with fabric, paper or pretty much any substrate you can think of. Thin sheets of real cork are laminated to a fabric backing so it is very flexible and durable. It is thinner that other cork sheets on the market but that is intentional to make it suitable for many different applications. It’s perfect for covering three dimensional projects like boxes, books, and home decor pieces. It can also be used to create 3D flowers and other embellishments… This fabric lives up to the Belagio motto: You are only limited by your imagination.
Those are the fabric facts ma’am.
Now, let’s see this fabulous fabric put into play by our awesome Inspiration Team! The designers are loving working with this cork fabric. First up is Maggi Harding with this Tiny Book and Case pair. Isn’t it elegant? See more photos and info in her blog post (you won’t want to miss the insides of the Tiny Book…)
Layers and layers of cork gorgeousness greet us when we see Pam Bray’s beautiful Pocket Notebook. The insides are just as exciting as the outsides too! Head on over to her blog to see all the details and a tutorial.
Karen Bearse has created a fabulous journal to hold all her notes and samples from the series of demo videos that Tim Holtz has been doing each week. (I’m right there with you Karen! 😉 ) She has some really great tips about working with the Belagio cork fabric in her blog post so check it out.
The Passport Book Die was Mitsyana Wright’s structure of choice to showcase the foiled elegance of the cork paper. She covered all the surfaces, inside and out and topped it off with some beautiful flowers and a sentiment. See her post for a tutorial and all the details!

I’m sure they are eve more beautiful in person, as hard as it is to believe that is possible! Before going to Portugal we were repeatedly told to see the cork purses and hats. Until we got there we doesn’t really understand. Once we saw them what could be done with cork amazed us. The texture and. Flexibility was great. The little flecks of gold foil? I had to get a fantastic purse made with it. Great memories. Now I can have a journal and notebook that I make, so nice!
