Hello fans! All throughout August we’ve been treated to a boatload of ideas to incorporate into your own projects. It’s the last week of August so this will be our junk journal inspiration wrap up post. However, don’t despair because we have seven lovely projects from the Educator Team! Get comfy, grab a beverage and scroll on…
First we have a gorgeous XL Journal from Anita Houston! She used a ton of Eileen’s other dies (the mug, word and flowers are a few) and wait until you see the inside! Head on over to her blog to see all the junk journal goodness.
Junk Journals are perfect for documenting a trip and holding all the maps, ticket stubs and other ephemera you can gather while traveling. Sue Eldred made a journal with the Notebook Die to house all the goodies from a trip to Palm Springs! Her blog post has a complete tutorial on how to build the journal structure.
Designer Jennie Atkinson has created one of her stylish shabby chic lovelies to share with us this week. She used the Wrapped Journal Die for the cover and cut the pages using the Passport Book Die. I love the monochromatic color scheme and vintage details. Learn how Jennie put it all together in her tutorial.
Sarah Lizzie’s rustic little Passport Book is stuffed full of all sorts of interesting bits and bobs! She used some fun mixed media techniques on the cover and you can find out all about it in the tutorial on her blog. Don’t miss all the little details!
Keep on scrolling… more junk journal inspiration to go…
I love space themed projects so I am really in love with Cheryl Waters’ journal that is an ode to the heavens and shooting for the stars! She has combined interesting ephemera, mixed media techniques and encouraging quotes into a delightful whole. Check out her tutorial and video walk-through on her blog.
Debbie Bankston has a full series of how-to videos on her YouTube channel showing how to make this fun junk journal. Look at all that awesome color and collage. Check out the channel and learn all of Debbie’s tricks!
Designer Madeline Arendt truly used “junk” to create her journal. She took recycling to new artistic heights! You will definitely want to see all her clever ideas for creating the inside pages in her blog post. You will be surprised at some of the materials she uses!
Eileen Hull’s Journal Dies:
Journal
Pocket Notebook
Wrapped Journal
Passport Book
Notebook
Tiny Book
Inserts/Pages:
Of course, it’s up to you how big you want to make the insert books that go inside the journals, but here’s a guide to help you get started.
The Pocket Notebook and Passport Book dies contain elements on the dies to create pages that fit in the book, but don’t worry… small books can be found in discount and stationery stores that are pre-made and inexpensive if you don’t want to make your own. Inserts are really easy to do though!
Next week will introduce a new theme for September! Be sure to stop by…
Thanks for stopping by to pay a visit! What a great month featuring journal creations from the Teams. We hope you enjoyed this junk journal inspiration wrap up! If you missed the first three posts, you can find them here, here, and here.

I’m loving these journal ideas. Thank you for the YouTube posts, I’m not a Facebook user but love the replays.
