Found three cute little date books at Books a Million and they were only a dollar each! Never mind that they will expire at the end of 2009- I have other plans. One went to my friend Kim, who is the queen of recycling. Not sure what she will do with it but know it will be cool.
My plan was to (finally) record all of my punches, stamps, markers, and various other craft supplies. Once I finish filling the book in with “already purchased supplies”, I will never have to hesitate and wonder whether or not I already have a 1 1/4″ circle punch. It will be kept it in the car with me and brought in when going into a craft store. The trick will be keeping it up.
A couple of tips… leave a few pages between each section (for new items) and add tabs for categories. On the pages where you are punching, put a bright piece of cardstock under the punched image to make the shape stand out. When entering marker color samples, keep in mind they will probably bleed, so put scrap paper behind the page when marking.
Whatever it is you collect and want to keep track of, a fun book like this is great to keep on hand and prevent purchasing duplicate items. More money for new stuff! 🙂

What a GREAT idea, Bean! Now, I’ve got to use that book for something fun and cool…you’ve encouraged me into it… Might not happen this week…but I’ll keep you posted. Thanks for your kind remarks about my recycling abilities… but I’d say you’re vying for the top position yourself! Keep the cool ideas coming my way….love it!

Eileen – great idea! Since I love getting notebooks, etc., this will be one way to get me started to actually USE the paper items I love! Thanks…

Funny, I was literally two minutes ago, just taking an eraser to the 2009 date book I barely used, scribbling out the dates and dating it for 2010 to be used again! But I love your idea!!! My date book is turning into a cat with nine lives!

Absolutely BRILLIANT! I’m so glad that I am able to find the “creative” people on the net. I don’t have any creative/idea genes in my body. That’s why I need everyone else’s ideas and craft patterns. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
