This month the designers are sharing their love of journals and are using Eileen Hull’s latest dies and embossing folder from Sizzix. Jennie Atkinson also focused on using the Library Pocket ATC Card & Tabs Die Set in a small wallet album created in a beautiful shabby chic style. Pam Bray is expressing her journaling love by making a mini journal of sorts. It’s a cute little folio book that holds ATC cards! The lettering tiles were cut using the Tile Alphanumeric Die (so handy!) and the structure holds Library Card Pockets for ATCs. Love it! See it on her blog…

Sizzix Project Tutorials with Eileen Hull’s Chapter 1 Dies!

We are wrapping up a month of Sizzix project tutorials highlighting the designers’ fabulous makes from the Chapter 1 Release Party. We hope you’ve been inspired and are having your own creative fun with Eileen’s new dies. Here’s Eileen’s recap of them in case you’re out of the loop:

“Introducing the Chapter 1, 2023 Eileen Hull/Sizzix collection!

Let’s start with the ScoreBoards Frame Pocket Journal – this is a Bigz Plus die so you will need a 9” cutting machine. The Journal measures 4 1/2” x 6 1/2” x 1 1/4” with an adjustable spine. What makes this die special are the additional pieces on the die, a pocket to hold ephemera, a frame and flap! These extra pieces may be used in many of my other journals or they can be used independently. The die may also be configured in a few different ways so watch the blog and Facebook live shows for ideas.

There are two Thinlits sets that coordinate with the Journal. You asked for a new alphabet – you got it – and I added numbers too! The Tile Alphanumeric is very versatile because you can use both the positive and negative shapes. Each letter is perforated which makes it easy to create and line up words.

The other Thinlits set is the Library Pocket, ATC Card and Tab Die Set – a journal essential! Use the ATC card die to knock out a bunch of Artist Trading Card bases and add the library pocket to package it up to swap. The Tab die is perfect to add to the Journal pages or on the ATC.

and a NEW 3-D Embossing Folder!

The last item is a 3D embossing folder called Tablecloth which was inspired by a crocheted cotton piece from my Mom. This adds beautiful texture and dimension to card backgrounds, book pages or tags!”

When she needed a quick thank you card, Maggi Harding turned to the Tile Alphanumeric and Library Pocket, ATC Card & Tabs Dies. With the addition of gorgeous patterned paper, she turned out a beautiful creation in no time flat. Find the details in her post!

Wow! Jenny Marples really thought outside of the box so to speak and used the Frame Pocket Journal Die to create an accordion folder to hold ephemera and those extra bits. Plus it’s beautiful to boot! Painty panels embossed using the Tablecloth 3-D Embossing Folder decorate the outside. Visit Jenny’s blog for instructions.

Clever Tonya Trantham also thought outside of the box by… making a box! She used the pieces cut using the Frame Pocket Journal Die to create a decorative holder for Thinlit die sets, paper pads or whatever you want to use it for. Head on over to her blog to see her creative die hack.

Designer Maggi Harding has been rocking the new dies and this project is no exception! She created a cookbook journal beautifully decorated with Graphic 45 papers. First up is Jennie Atkinson with her gorgeous ephemera wallet made using the Frame Pocket Journal Die. Vellum pockets and storage pages made to hold ephemera are inside. Head to Jennie’s blog to see all the clever details and watch her video tutorial.
