Hey everyone! We are back with another Inspiration Team Member profile. This week we are taking a look at the art of Nicole Wright. Let’s see what inspires Nicole Wright to make her unique and clever creations!
Nicole Wright is a master of the Holiday craft! Her projects go beyond the ordinary as she pushes her creative limits to make each creation extraordinary! How does she do it? Let’s find out what Nicole Wright had to say about her creative journey…
Q: How did you come to be a member of the Inspiration Team?
A: I got my first Eileen Hull dies and then entered every challenge. After a few months of hounding and entering I was asked to join the team. Now I use them all the time.
Q: What would you like Eileen Hull Readers to know about you?
A: I love what I do. My creative mind is always turning and I get a lot of my ideas in the middle of the night during those moments between sleeping and waking.
Q: What do you like about working with Eileen Hull Sizzix Dies?
A: I love creating 3D projects. There is so much you can do creating like this and Eileen’s dies really fill that creative need to go big.
Q: What was the first Craft Supply you ever bought? (Crayola Crayons don’t count)
A: This is not easy since there are creatively so many firsts as your creativity evolves. But to apply it to my style of the past 10 years I would say my heat gun.
Q: What are your favorite craft supplies to use together?
A: Easy… my Sizzix dies and Ranger inks.
Q: What’s your favorite Color Palette?
A: I love earth tones so I usually stick those. I don’t usually like brights.
Q: Do you believe in Glitter?
A: Distress Glitter… I sure do! Especially during the holiday’s.
Q: What creative medium have you always wanted to try but haven’t?
A: I have dabble in so many I can’t say there’s one I want to try. I took a couple years off to find my creative style. I am in a place where I now enjoy what I create with so I don’t really look beyond. I can’t afford too.
Q: What’s your favorite Creative Quote?
A: “Creativity isn’t a Hobby, it’s a Lifestyle”
Q: If you could interview any Artist (living or dead) who would it be?
A: I love Claude Monet! All the colours! When I went to the Louvre in Paris I stood and looked at my first Claude Monet and yep, I had some tears.
Q: Name three current Artists whose style you admire?
A: iGirlZoe , Yaya Scraps & More , Tim Holtz
Q: Best Class you’ve ever taken…who was it with?
A: I haven’t taken a class before… well I did once for work, a mixed-media class and it was fun.
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to creating?
A: I don’t have one…
Q: Do you have a favorite song or soundtrack to listen to while you create?
A: AC/DC
Q: How do you find inspiration when you fall into a creative rut?
A: I go to the $1 Store find something ugly and make it cool.
Q: What advice would you give to someone who is looking to express their creativity?
A: No limitations… I always tell people that when I am teaching. Nothing is ever wrong and there are no mistakes when creating.
Q: Favorite thing to create?
A: Anything with my Sizzix dies, usually 3D.
Q: Least favorite thing to create?
A: Simple, I struggle keeping it simplistic.
Q: Who or what inspired you to live creatively?
A: I have always been creative. My husband has always supported my creativity. He knows it brings me a sense of wholeness. It’s part of my identity. If I’m angry I clean and if I’m happy I’m creating.
Q: Describe your creative space in one word…
A: Inspirational
Q: What do you feel is missing from the creative community?
A: How can there be anything missing… I think it’s all in my craft room.
Q: What would you do to change it?
A: If there was something missing I would design it and have it manufactured.
Q: Do you read blogs? If so what is your favorite creative Blog? What’s your favorite non-creative Blog?
A: I have always said I am a terrible blogger. I do look at a lot of blogs. Wait… there’s such a thing as a non-creative blog?
